Just north of Seattle in a quaint, tree-lined neighborhood of Ballard is a home that was owned by the same gentleman for over 50 years. He raised his children there, and lovingly cared for his three-bedroom 1926 Mensch brick home even during the rapid changes of the city around him. But when it was time for him to move to assisted living, there was no way he or his family wanted to go through the stress, work, and expense of getting the house on the market and sold. His daughter called The SASH Program, who provided him with a private sale, complete with packing and moving services.
It was within this lovely home that KIRO 7 TV's personality Penny LeGate interviewed Rebecca Bomann, SASH's Founder and CEO, on February 15th. Penny LeGate, who has traveled the globe for humanitarian outreach trips, resonated personally with SASH's vision of serving seniors and reaching out to those who are vulnerable and overwhelmed. During the interview, Penny highlighted Rebecca Bomann's background of social work, which has largely shaped the SASH vision of customizing each sale to the seniors' specific needs.
SASH has experienced strong growth in the last year in its expansion to all of Western Washington, with plans to continue expansion in late 2011 and early 2012. It has received the endorsement of several hundred elder care providers in the Western Washington, and seniors and their families are calling SASH every day seeking information about its unique home sale service. SASH will also be offering new services in 2011 to better meet the needs of the seniors who are calling in for assistance.
